The Eastern Gas Pipeline (EGP) is an example of Jemena's commitment to providing dependable and competitive gas transportation solutions. We aim to be leaders in reliability and availability.
The EGP is a key natural gas supply artery between gas fields in Gippsland in Victoria and the major gas markets in NSW and the ACT.
Gas transported on the EGP can be reliably delivered to:
- Sydney Short Term Trading Market (STTM) - via 4 delivery points.
- Moomba-Sydney Pipeline at Wilton, for delivery to other East Coast markets further north
- Regional centres in Victoria and NSW
- ACT
- VicHub
- TGP, for delivery into Tasmania
The EGP is the only STTM facility operator in the Sydney STTM, with multiple independent delivery points providing increased security of supply for customers. This gives EGP customers the flexibility to redirect gas to a number of markets across the East Coast of Australia, and thus the ability to increase utilisation of their services and maximise their value.
Port Kembla Lateral Looping Project
Jemena is proposing to duplicate the existing Port Kembla lateral pipeline, which forms part of the EGP. We recently submitted a Modification Report to the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE). The modification is required to increase capacity to the EGP, to accommodate daily gas injection and maximum gas flows for the Port Kembla Gas Terminal Project, a separate project to be developed by Australian Industrial Energy (AIE). Jemena's application for the modification has now recieved formal approval from DPIE. The approval can also be viewed via the DPIE Planning Portal (https://www.planningportal.nsw.gov.au/major-projects/project/26196)
Available Capacity
Jemena is committed to the provision of voluntary, non-discriminatory, pipeline access to third parties. We operate within a framework that takes into account sound commercial principles, and provides a fair and reasonable foundation to meet shippers’ needs. Jemena believes that such a commitment is essential to the development of transparent and competitive markets for pipeline services.
We look forward to discussing your gas transportation requirements.
Access to the Tasmanian Gas Pipeline (TGP)
The EGP compresses all gas transported on the TGP at the TGP interconnection point. Shippers injecting into the TGP interconnection point require a standard EGP transportation agreement, available upon referral from the Tasmanian Gas Pipeline.
