Renewable gas experts from Jemena have appeared on a recent podcast exploring the advancements and future opportunities in the renewable energy space.
General Manager of Renewable Gas, Gabrielle Sycamore, and Technical Lead of Renewable Gases, Alistair Wardrope, spoke to the ‘Exploring Hydrogen’ podcast about the important work their teams are doing to lead the implementation of the Jemena gas network decarbonisation strategy over the long-term.
Gabrielle said that it was a great opportunity to participate in the podcast and share the innovative work Jemena is doing to prepare for Australia’s net-zero future.
“It’s important to talk openly about the work that we’re doing behind the scenes to ensure our network is prepared for the energy transition to net-zero. At Jemena, we are collaborating with gas users, industry partners and governments to accelerate the integration of renewable gases into the gas network.
“Initiatives like our Western Sydney Green Hydrogen Hub and Malabar Biomethane Project demonstrate how our network can play an important role in Australia’s energy transition,” she said.
Alistair said working in renewable energy was a passion and he enjoys delivering solutions to support the future of renewable energy.
“In my role with Jemena, I’ve been actively involved in the technical development of Australia’s first Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) funded hydrogen and biomethane gas network injection projects. Innovation in this space is absolutely key. We are using Jemena’s existing infrastructure and advancing technologies to ensure renewable gas will be an affordable and reliable component of the energy mix in the future,” he said.
