Australia’s energy system is changing. And fast.

Kick-start your career as part of our 2024 Graduate cohort for the chance to work on some of the country’s most innovative energy projects – apply today!

We’re Jemena – one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure companies. If you haven’t heard of us before, we deliver energy to one in five Australian homes and businesses and own and operate more than $11 billion worth of assets and some of the country’s most exciting energy projects. We’re exploring how renewable energy can be integrated into our future energy system, while ensuring homes and businesses continue to receive reliable and safe energy.

We’re at the forefront of some of the country’s most innovative and interesting renewable energy projects, which are testing the application of renewable gases such as hydrogen and biomethane, as well electric vehicles, and solar generation.

Our graduates work on real projects, solve real problems, and make a real difference to Australia’s energy future. All while having the time and space to pursue interests outside of work in a supportive environment with a structured learning program.

Jemena Acting Group Org Capability Manager, Melanie Stacey, said that Jemena offers graduates the potential to build their careers, while maintaining a healthy work/life balance.

“We’re on the lookout for energetic graduates to join our two-year development program which is designed to develop talented individuals. Our 2024 graduates will come from a range of academic backgrounds, including engineering, finance, digital, and commerce, and they’ll receive on-the-job coaching and mentoring from leaders across our business while completing real projects and formal classroom learning to develop skills in communication, business and leadership.”

Graduate Engineer Inas Ansari started in our graduate program in February 2022, and was actually still studying at the time.

“I was still completing the final subject of my Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and Commerce degree at Macquarie University. My manager was really supportive and flexible, and I was able to take Fridays off while I finished my studies, with extra time off around exams.”

Working in the Gas Distribution team in Asset Management, Inas says she is getting full exposure over the life-cycle of a project.

“Every project is different. I love working with so many different people and teams – I’ve felt a real sense of belonging straight away at Jemena. It’s just been a really positive experience so far,” she said.

Applications for the Group 2024 graduate program open on Monday 17 April 2023 and will close on 14 May 2023. Successful applicants will commence in February 2024.
