Negotiated Connections
Through this service Jemena will provide a customer with a Negotiated Connection agreement to augment its electricity distribution network so that the requested supply capacity can be made available.
Jemena's Negotiated Connection works agreements are provided inline with the National Electricity Rules - Chapter 5A.

Important information:
Subdivisions
If you intend to subdivide the property, you will need to submit a plan of subdivision as part of your application. Please note that architectural or building site plans will not be considered as substitutes. Additionally, you will need to provide the details about the electricity supply arrangements for the existing dwellings, including the existing service connection route and meter position.
Important: If you are in the process of or planning to subdivide the property, please select the "subdivision" option and attach your proposed plan of subdivision in the Document details section of the application.
Existing & proposed equipment
Please provide the most precise estimate of the electricity supply you intend to use, indicated in kilowatts or horsepower. This information is essential for us to tailor our design to your specific needs, particularly if you plan to install high-load equipment such as floor heating or air conditioning. Your accurate input is the foundation of our design process.
Property sketch
Please sketch your property layout to assist us in pinpointing your desired electricity supply locations. For larger rural properties, it's imperative to provide precise details, including measurements and pole numbers, for all structures and objects. Unless otherwise specified, we will assume that fences mark the property boundaries.
Please take note that you may be able to access a free aerial photograph of your property on the internet or through your real estate agent or local council.
Please be thorough in indicating the presence of any obstructions or features, such as:
- Rows of trees
- Existing buildings
- Waterways
- Railway lines
- Highways
- Steep slopes
- Rocky terrain
- Power lines crossing the property
- Telstra or other utility assets
Pole numbers
Please provide the pole number and the distance to the nearest power pole adjacent to your property. You can typically locate the pole number on a strip made of plastic or aluminium affixed to the pole at eye level, often starting with the letter "A." Submitting a clear photograph of the pole numbers will ensure precision and help prevent any potential delays.
