Manage Your Existing Gas Connection 

Need to make changes to your current gas connection? Whether you're relocating a meter, upgrading your gas supply, or disconnecting services, we offer a range of solutions for existing residential connections. You can apply direct with us via our online portal, or apply via your energy retailer.

Types of Existing Connection Service Requests

Additions and Alterations

For permanent removal of gas supply to your premises or temporary disconnection.
 


Additions and Alterations

Meter Relocation and Path Valve Installation

If your gas meter needs to be relocated or a new path valve installed, your licensed plumber or gas fitter will install the path valve. We will disconnect and reconnect the gas supply to the path valve. You will be required to submit a Standby Request via the Jemena Portal. 

 

 

 

Gas Regulator Upgrade

For upgrades to your gas appliances, a larger regulator may be required. Your plumber will need to submit a request with our Meter Centre and arrange an appointment with your licensed plumber or gas fitter to safely disconnect and reconnect the gas supply during the upgrade.

 

Gas Meter Upgrade

Upgrading your gas meter may be necessary if your appliances need higher gas capacity. Your plumber will submit a request to Jemena’s Meter Centre, and we’ll provide a quote for the service. Once confirmed, Jemena will deliver the meter, and your licensed plumber or gas fitter will complete the installation.

 

Meter Kit Installation

If you require an additional meter, contact your energy retailer. Your retailer will raise a request for an additional meter. We will deliver the meter, and your licensed plumber or gas fitter will install it.

 

 

Disconnections

Gas Abolishment

If gas is no longer needed at your property, contact your energy retailer. Your retailer will raise a request for an abolishment. Jemena will safely disconnect the service from the gas main and remove the meter.

 

Temporary Disconnections

For renovations or temporary disconnections, contact your energy retailer. Your retailer will raise a request for a temporary disconnection. Jemena will safely disconnect the gas. If you no longer need gas, a full abolishment can be arranged through your retailer.
