Customer Categories
  • Volume Market Customers: Residential and small commercial customers.
  • Demand Market Customers: Large commercial and industrial customers, typically consuming more than 10 terajoules (TJ) of gas annually.

Connections

If you are in the design phase of a project, you can verify gas availability and capacity for your project through our portal.

Required Information for Application
Before logging a portal application, please prepare the following information:

  • Site Plan: Indicate your preferred connection location.
  • Connection Type: Specify if it is a VI (Volume Indicator) or individual connection.
  • Gas Load Requirement: Detail the appliances you plan to use.


Applications can be submitted through: an energy retailer, builder, plumber or hydraulic consultant. 

You may nominate who will bear any connection charges during the application process. Ensure that plumber details are included on the application form unless they are applying directly.

Metering Information

When discussing meter-only jobs, please note that only one connection per site or building is permitted.

Meter Kit Details:  A meter kit is distinct from residential setups. When installing a meter kit, ensure it is not connected to a secondary meter.

General Connection Expectations:  We aim to provide clear timelines for how long connections typically take. For mains extensions or third-party inclusions, additional information may be required regarding charges and processes involved.

Daily Gas Data Product:  Our Daily Gas Data Product offers detailed reports on gas usage tailored specifically for demand customers, including load shedding capabilities.
