Applications for commercial and industrial sites can be submitted by an energy retailer, builder, plumber or hydraulic consultant, or via our online portal.
Before lodging a portal application, please prepare the following information:
Site Plan: Indicate your preferred connection location.
Delivery Pressure: Consult with your plumber or hydraulic consultant to determine your required delivery pressure.
Gas Load Requirement: Detail the appliances you plan to use including peak hourly loads, proposed annual load and required supply pressure.
Depending on the amount of gas your site is expected to consume, we offer different metering and tariff solutions.
General Connection Expectations: Large commercial & industrial connections are often complex, we aim to provide clear timelines for how long connections typically take and work within your project timelines.
Metering Pressures: Different metering pressures are available depending on the type of network within the street. If you are unsure what can be provided please contact us to discuss further.
Tariff Type: For large manufacturers who are expected to consume more than 10 TJ of gas per annum, a demand tariff will be required. For demand connections, please consult with a retailer prior to lodging your application.
Daily Metering Facilities: Where feasible, we'll install daily metering facilities on demand market connections. This enables data to be sent to your energy retailer daily, and you can also apply for access to this data directly from us.
Whether you’re initiating a new gas connection or expanding an existing one, follow the steps below to guide you from application to completion.
