Atlas Gas Pipeline Project
The Atlas Gas Pipeline Project (Atlas) plays an important part in delivering Jemena’s Northern Growth Strategy, which seeks to build an interconnected supply chain of energy delivery assets in northern Australia through targeted acquisitions and greenfield developments.
Jemena worked with Senex Energy and the Queensland Government to strengthen the security of gas supply for the domestic east coast gas market, delivering its Atlas Gas Pipeline in just under 18 months.
The Atlas Gas Pipeline Project transports gas from the Atlas Gas Field – the first domestic gas acreage from the Queensland Government – to the domestic east coast gas market via Jemena’s Darling Downs Pipeline.
Atlas is a 60 kilometre long, buried gas pipeline between Senex Energy’s Atlas Gas Field, west of Wandoan, and Jemena’s Darling Downs Pipeline, and includes a compressor station, located close to the Atlas Gas Field.
Construction was completed in 2019 and a new source of gas is now being delivered to market.
Jemena worked closely with the local community as it developed the Atlas Gas Pipeline.
