Jemena Recognised As Top Workplace To Give Back
For the second year running, Jemena is proud to be announced as one of Australia's Top 40 Best Workplaces to Give Back 2021.
Sponsored by Good Company, the annual awards recognise Australian companies who, together with their people, are making a real difference in the community through championing initiatives such as staff giving and volunteering, donations, fundraising, sponsorships, and other ‘social good’ activities.
In 2021, Jemena’s inclusion recognises the positive impact of our business’ ongoing community programs, work underway to support community wellbeing through the COVID-19 Pandemic, and also the incredible generosity of our people and their efforts to help ‘give back’. Highlights include:
Partnering with community on industry-leading programs that support greater job opportunities for disadvantaged, remotely based Aboriginal jobseekers and enhance energy literacy advice and support for culturally and linguistically diverse community members.
Supporting grassroots groups and organisations making a difference in their (and our) local communities through our community grants program, as well as donating 200+ laptops and tablets to support community workers and members struggling to work and study from home.
Encouraging greater diversity, inclusivity and reconciliation in our workplaces and communities through the launch of our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan, International Women’s Day, NAIDOC Week, Wear It Purple Day and other important recognition and celebratory events.
Promoting various employee blood donation and fundraising drives, as well as providing donations to 22+ local community organisations, sports clubs, emergency services and other causes our people support outside of work through staff volunteering programs.
Working with industry to support some of our most vulnerable customers through the impacts of COVID-19 including offering free batteries for life support customers, deferring planned outages, announcing an Energy Network Relief Package, leading various Energy Charter #BetterTogether initiatives and most recently, supporting a $1.5 million Energy Charter customer support fund.
