Jemena shortlisted for Digital Utility of the Year Award!
Our work to create digital solutions for our customers and employees has earned Jemena a spot as a finalist in the Digital Utility Awards 2019. The awards recognise exceptional achievement and innovation in the Australian utility sector.
Jemena has been announced as a finalist in two categories - Best Customer Innovation and Digital Utility of the Year.
We have been recognised for our Power Changers program which ran from December 2017 to March 2018. Power Changers, in partnership with the Victorian Government, was a demand response trial that provided incentives to energy users to reduce their electricity consumption during peak times on very hot days. The trial was an innovative, technology-led, community program enabling customers to cut their bills, reduce energy and ease demand on the grid. More than 600 customers in the Jemena Electricity Network areas of Alphington, Craigieburn, Eaglemont, Ivanhoe and Ivanhoe East in Victoria took part in the four-month trial. The findings from the trial are contributing to further smart meter studies and will assist in developing other digital products to benefit customers.
Jemena has also been recognised for providing digital solutions for its field staff and emergency response teams that reduce the use of paper documentation to improve our operations.
The winners will be announced at the Digital Utilities 2019 event on 21 March 2019.
