Observe the danger signs erected on substation fences and keep out

Substations are located throughout the community to help distribute a safe and reliable electricity supply to homes and businesses. They come in different sizes, carry different voltages and are all extremely dangerous if not respected properly.

Substation equipment such as transformers carry extremely high voltages of electricity. Electricity at high voltages can ‘jump’ from equipment to other objects and people. Never climb on any electrical substation equipment or climb perimeter fencing as you risk the danger of being electrocuted.

Always observe all danger signs around substations and never attempt to gain access.
