Environmentally friendly workplaces

Jemena strives to reduce energy consumption, reduce waste and increase recycling

A number of Jemena's offices including Mount Waverley in Victoria and Sydney Olympic Park in New South Wales have been constructed in accordance with 'green' design principles. The Mt Waverley office, for example, has a number of features designed specifically to reduce energy consumption, reduce waste and increase recycling.

Energy saving initiatives

The following energy saving initiatives have also been incorporated into various sites:

• Water-cooled chiller units
• Variable speed drives for all a/c fans, exhaust ducts, cooling towers & pumps
• Water efficient taps and toilets
• Building management systems that control operating times, variable speed drives, lights & lifts, alarms, etc and contribute to minimize energy consumption
• The provision of bike racks and showers to encourage employees to cycle to work and ‘do their bit’ for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, whilst also improving their health and fitness

Most of the environmental features within our offices are economically viable and, more importantly, they have been fitted for overall comfort and to contribute towards minimising our environmental footprint.
