Jemena has built an enviable reputation for developing safe and reliable gas, water and electrical assets.
We offer a range of innovative ownership models to suit particular developer and market needs. We are involved in Public / Private Partnerships as well as Build, Own, Operate and Transfer schemes and joint developments.
Our core strength, unlike many other private service providers, is we have an insider's perspective of the electricity, gas and water businesses. This insight, along with our knowledge, resources and practical experience, means we can consistently deliver outstanding results for our clients.
As Australia's largest asset owner and operator, we employ over 2,000 people, providing a superior diversity and depth of expertise to draw upon.
From wind farms to recycled water businesses, Jemena has the range of experience to turn concepts into strong performing businesses and assets.
Collaboration and co-operation are at the core of our business. We believe the only way to consistently deliver superior results is to forge relationships based on trust and integrity with our people and clients. Our business model revolves around sharing risk and reward based on performance.
Our ownership of regulated electricity, gas and water assets provides us with hands-on understanding of the regulatory regime in every Australian State and Territory. This means we can approach every development opportunity with the insight to provide a streamlined approach to the planning and implementation stages.
AquaNet Sydney, a Jemena Company, together with Veolia Water Australia, will build and operate Australia's first privately owned recycled water system in western Sydney. Construction is scheduled for early 2009.
The Rosehill Water Recycling scheme will initially deliver 4.3 billion litres per year of safe, high quality recycled water to development, industrial and commercial customers in Rosehill and Smithfield by early 2011. Future expansion aims to supply an additional 3 billion litres per year to customers in Westmead, Parramatta, Wetherill Park, Fairfield and Liverpool.
Under the Build Own Operate model, Jemena will own the recycled water network and deliver water initially to Sydney Water and then directly to industrial customers.

Jemena has constructed a new 30 kilometre, 500 millimetre diameter natural gas main between Liverpool and Marrickville. This was achieved in conjunction with civil construction specialists Codmah and Diona under an alliance agreement.
The new gas main, known as the 'Sydney Primary Loop', connects into the existing Primary Main Network which distributes natural gas to homes and businesses across Sydney.
This project was essential to securing Sydney's existing supply of natural gas, as well as planning for the long-term needs of the growing population.
Construction work began in June 2006 and was commissioned in December 2007.

Delta Electricity has appointed Jemena to construct a gas pipeline between Bushells Ridge and the Colongra gas fired turbines. The project will include the construction of:
Construction planned to commence in April 2008 and is expected to be completed by March 2009. To date Jemena has worked with Delta under a joint team and open book approach to complete the Front End Engineering Design and finalise the engineering and construction scope, commercial terms, risk sharing and remuneration structure for a 20 year Build, Own, Operate and Transfer contract.

With Jemena's experience in electrical distribution asset management, we are well placed to service Australia's growing wind farm industry.
Under the common ownership of Singapore Power International, Jemena is now aligned with SP AusNet, owners of a centrally located electricity network which provides key links to networks in South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.
The combined capabilities of both organisations represent a unique platform for the delivery of wind farm developments and guarantees the progression of wind generation as a viable sustainable energy source for Australia.
Contracted by Hydro Tasmania/EHN, Jemena co-constructed the Balance of Plant works for Cathedral Rocks Wind Farm, SA. The contract comprised the design, procurement, installation, commissioning and testing of the electrical balance of plant for the wind farm (33 x 1.8MW Vestas wind turbines). This included 50 km of underground HV and optic fibre cabling, the wind farm SCADA system, turbine and substation earthing systems, and wind farm switchgear.
