We would like our communities to recognise Jemena as a leader and a good neighbour.
We are committed to building and fostering relationships with local communities. This requires regular discussions with stakeholders, collaborative activities and making contributions that strengthen our partnership with the communities in which we operate.
Jemena’s community investment program collaborates with existing organisations to address welfare, environmental and local community needs.
Jemena’s principal program is with Landcare Australia. Through this partnership Jemena is sponsoring a range of projects across Australia. We’re encouraging our staff to volunteer in some of these projects and take an active role in helping our communities care for the environment. Our Landcare partnership allows us to have a presence in more than one State and delivers benefits to multiple communities.
Our local community partnership program facilitates support of local organisations. Some of theses local sponsorships have included St James Regional College in Clayton, Westowe (Gladstone) Rural Fire Brigade, Eastern Ranges Football Club, Friends of Cruickshank Park and Middle Kinglake Primary School.
Another focus is to reward employees who volunteer with community organisations in their own time. Employees can apply to our community link program for a donation of $500 per annum to not-for-profit or charity organisation.
