‘Scorchy the Dragon’ will keep Jemena staff on their toes as they take on the Team Treadmill Challenge to raise funds for kids in 24 hour care as part of charity organisation Very Special Kids' annual corporate fundraiser.
Thirty one Jemena employees will don their best 80’s outfits to take part in the challenge, with Jemena employees already raising more than $25,000 for the charity.
Jemena’s Executive General Manager of Customer and Markets, Shaun Reardon said Jemena’s people have a history of contributing to the communities where the business operates.
“We love that our people are so enthusiastic about supporting worthwhile community causes like the Very Special Kids charity treadmill run,” said Mr Reardon.
“Pleasingly, Jemena has a number of formal arrangements in place – such as corporate volunteering – which encourage our employees and give them time to give back to the community. We partner with a range of not-for-profit and charitable organisations to effectively engage with customers and make a real difference to communities we serve.
“Already in 2018 Jemena staff have dedicated countless hours to volunteering through organised partnerships or utilised volunteering leave to get involved in organisations and causes close to their heart.
“Over recent months, Jemena staff have cycled, baked, run, eaten, grown moustaches and walked all in the name of raising funds for the causes that matter to them, and teams have taken advantage of our partnerships with OzHarvest and FareShare making hundreds of meals for vulnerable members of the community.”
