Bushfire mitigation management

The Electricity Safety (Bushfire Mitigation) Regulations govern the requirement for a structured approach to bushfire mitigation.

The Electricity Safety (Bushfire Mitigation) Regulations govern the requirement for a structured approach to bushfire mitigation.  This legislation forms the basis of our bushfire mitigation plan and consolidates electric line clearance management (see the “Trees and powerlines” page for more details on this program), electrical distribution asset condition assessment and private overhead electric line defect management.

At all times these activities will be carried out with attention to:

  • Ensuring public safety
  • Ensuring private property security
  • Ensuring continuity of supply
  • Delivery of quality service
  • Responsible environmental management
  • Commitment to workplace safety
  • Minimising of community cost
  • Notification, consultation and negotiation with relevant stakeholders
